The CH-EM Autumn Conference will be held for the first time at the Haute école de Musique de Genève (HEM) on 28 and 29 November 2025. As part of the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HES-SO), the HEM covers a field ranging from medieval music to contemporary music, while also offering courses in world music, dance, and the performing arts. Together with the Institut d'ethnologie de Neuchâtel and the Institut de musicologie de Genève, it leads a master’s programme in ethnomusicology. At HEM, the Centre des cultures concentrates the institution's activities in the field of ethnomusicology and interculturality. It hosts a collection of instruments, practical and theoretical courses, meetings and symposia, and an annual festival.

This unique event will provide an opportunity to focus on the intercultural dynamics at work in the field of music education, both within and outside academic institutions. It will also include sessions on open themes (one of them dedicated to young researchers) and various parallel activities (visit to the MEG's exhibition Afrosonica – Paysages sonores, concert by ADEM).
